Roundup and list posts are a great way to showcase your best content while improving internal linking and SEO. In this up-to-date guide for 2023, I‘ll show you how to easily create stunning roundups in WordPress using the WP Tasty Roundups plugin.
Why Create Roundup Posts in WordPress
Roundup posts feature your top articles on a topic to provide readers with a comprehensive overview. For example, you could create:
- A showcase of your most popular recipes
- A listicle of advice for small business owners
- A collection reviewing the best WordPress plugins
The benefits of roundup posts include:
- Driving traffic to older evergreen content on your site
- Improving internal linking between relevant posts
- Enhancing user experience with organized, scannable content
This in turn can boost your WordPress SEO and increase conversions.
Step 1: Install and Activate WP Tasty Roundups
I recommend using the WP Tasty Roundups plugin. It‘s the easiest way to make beautiful, customizable roundup and list posts in WordPress.
The plugin was updated in January 2023 to version 1.5, which added design options and better support for WordPress 6.1.
After installing, enter your license key under Settings > Tasty Roundups:
You can also configure default styles and layouts here before creating your first roundup.
Step 2: Add a Roundup Block to Your Post
To build a roundup, edit any post and click the + Add Block button:
Search for Tasty Roundup and insert the block where you want your listicle to display.
Step 3: Insert Posts into the Roundup
Next, add posts to your roundup:
Add Posts from Your Blog
Type keywords into the search bar to instantly insert your own posts:
The plugin automatically pulls the title, image, excerpt and link.
Manually Add External Posts
You can also manually add posts from other sites by clicking the + Add Manually button.
Paste the article‘s URL and configure settings like:
- Image position
- Text formatting
- Link target (new tab)
This lets you safely link out to related content without passing authority.
Step 4: Customize and Reorder Your Roundup
WP Tasty Roundups makes it easy to organize and customize your list posts:
- Reorder articles with drag-and-drop or toolbar buttons
- Format text with bold, italics and text alignment
- Replace images by uploading new ones
Finally, rearrange the position of images and text blocks to alternate layouts:
This creates visual variety and enhances scannability for readers.
